Integrative Therapist and EMDR Practitioner: Liz Jackson

I am a warm, non-judgmental, compassionate counsellor, with over 25 years of experience in supporting people through challenging periods in their life.

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and EMDR therapist. I work in a collaborative way, using techniques from EMDR, Psychotherapy, as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I am particularly experienced in working with trauma and anxiety disorders. If required I can offer EMDR therapy (bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/types-of-therapy/eye-movement-desensitisation-and-reprocessing-emdr/) and am also able to offer ‘Rewind’, an effective and non-traumatising technique which can reduce or eliminate trauma symptoms.
I have been a counsellor for Bristol After Stroke, Network Counselling, The Bourne Family Project and Kinergy. I have also worked for numerous years in the field of mental health, with women who have escaped trafficking, mothers suffering from perinatal illness, and survivors of sexual abuse and rape.

  • ‘Rewind’ technique qualified (Human Givens Institute)
  • Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (University of South Wales.BA (Hons) Social Policy and Administration
  • 25 years working in social care, with struggling families, victims of modern slavery, women suffering from perinatal mental health issues and survivors of sexual abuse and rape.

Talking through thoughts, feelings and experiences with a qualified listener can help you to see them from a different perspective, to understand the origin of behaviours, and to develop the confidence and skills to make changes. I can work with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, childhood abuse and much more.

Practical Details

If you do decide to go ahead with therapy, each session will cost £65 and will last for 50 mins. Ideally, sessions will be every week. I prefer to do counselling face to face, but can offer zoom sessions if necessary.
