I am a qualified and UKCP-registered Family Therapist – we are also known as ‘Systemic Psychotherapists’, because we think about ‘systems’ such as families, couples and groups/teams. I have much experience of working with young people and their families, couples and teams from working in the NHS in Bristol-based CAMHS (children and adolescent mental health) services, but also through work with young people’s charities.
As family therapists we work with families (in whatever shape or form), couples, but also individuals, to think about the complex networks of relationships we live in. We have conversations with you about what is going well within those relationships, what you might like to be different and what you would like your relationships to look like going forwards. When one of us struggles, our network tends to struggle, too – and vice versa.
Together with colleagues we are in the process of building the ‘Bristol Family Therapy Collective’, a community interest company that aims to provide future access to pro bono family therapy. Our current fee structure is aimed to ‘pay forwards’ – your fees will contribute to providing future pro bono family therapy.
