Integrative Counsellor: Miranda Lovelock

I am an integrative counsellor with a Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy and registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and The National Counselling & PsychotherapyMiranda Lovelock Society (Accred) .

Integrative counselling means I combine different therapeutic theories and tailor them to your unique needs. Sometimes, I draw on creative processes and interventions focusing on your feelings and the world around you.

I understand that life can be overwhelming.

Maybe you feel confused and isolated, weighed down by working life, complex thoughts or emotions, demotivated or experiencing low self-esteem from relationship and work pressures. You might find yourself repeating old patterns of behaviour or lost about the direction in your life.

The connection between you, as the client, and your therapist serves as a window into your broader relationships and can offer insights into your life’s connections. Still, it’s crucial to recognise that you are not alone. I appreciate the significance of childhood experiences and their potential to remain hidden, only to resurface later in life.

My approach is firmly rooted in humanistic, psychodynamic and Gestalt principles. I aim to provide a compassionate and trauma-informed environment, inviting you to delve into your feelings, emotions, and underlying issues without fear of criticism or judgment.

Throughout the therapy, we can gain new insight into the dynamic interplay between your past and present, facilitating a deeper understanding of your current experiences and behaviours underpinned by empathy and offering you space to share your feelings and thoughts safely.

This process strongly emphasises fostering a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship, always moving at a comfortable pace for you, which has been proven to be integral to making positive change.

Integrative Counsellor: Clare Peat

About Me

Hi, I’m an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I am a warm and compassionate person and believe that the therapeutic space can offer a powerful way to understand yourself, your experiences and your relationships. I offer long and short term counselling and as an integrative therapist, I work in a way that is tailored to your needs.

My experience

Clare Peat September 2024

I have been working to support people with their mental health for more than 10 years and have worked as a counsellor for the last 5 years. I have experience of working with people experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, low self esteem, PTSD, bereavement, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, relationship difficulties, parenting, autism, and ADHD.

I have worked as co-ordinator of a mental health helpline and as a counsellor for Bristol Mind, for Kinergy, a charity that supports survivors of sexual abuse, and for a charity that offers counselling for carers. I also have experience of working with university students.

How I work

My training is in humanistic integrative counselling and I draw on different theoretical approaches to find the most helpful way forward for you. The approaches that inform my work include: Person-centred counselling, Gestalt, transactional analysis and ACT therapy. I like to encourage the use of creativity in sessions where that feels helpful and have found that using a creative approach can help you gain new insights and a different perspective. I have recently completed further training in creative arts therapies and in creative writing for therapeutic purposes.

Whatever your reason for seeking counselling, I can offer a safe and confidential space where you can feel heard and make sense of what is happening in your life without the usual pressures and expectations. I am patient and sensitive to your needs and will help you explore whatever it is you are facing at your own pace.

Gestalt Therapist: Edda Johnson

About me

I am a Gestalt Psychotherapist, with full UKCP registration, offering affordable psychotherapy and counselling for individual adults on a short or long term basis.EDDA-NEW-PHOTO August 2023

I have undertaken a rigorous training at Welsh Psychotherapy Institute (WPI), over many years to provide me with a robust grounding to support clients facing a wide range of life challenges.

Gestalt means ‘whole’ and Gestalt Therapy is a dynamic approach that works with the whole person. As a relational therapist I pay attention to the relationship as it develops with a client, bringing awareness to what is happening in the present moment. This creates the potential for shifting patterns that are no longer helpful. I include bringing awareness to body sensations and experiences to support this work.

Experience

I have worked in the voluntary sector for over 30 years in a wide range of health and social care settings, including social housing, regeneration projects and for 11 years I managed a charity offering a wide range of bereavement services.

Fees

My fee is £45.00 for a 50 minute session, either face to face or on Zoom. I do have some concessionary rates available, please ask, so that finances don’t get in the way of you seeking the support you need.
